COVE PANT • Pattern

By PATTERN FANTASTIQUE, Cove Pant is a paper sewing pattern.

Garment Details:  Part 30’s sailor chic and part 70’s sportswear. Super high waisted with a back double layer yoke, the front features paper bag style gathers created by double drawstrings over the front between hip pocket openings. The pocket bags are a single layer stitched through to leg with a wrap-over pocket trim detail. A high glam shape with streamlined finished. The Cove can be worn cropped to floor length.

Sizing: This is a multi-sized pattern Australian sizes 6 - 16. When choosing a size, stick with the recommended size for hip measurements. The waistband can be gathered in or loosened off for smaller or bigger waistlines. Sizing chart can be found here.

The Fit: The Cove Pants sit high on the waist above the belly button. The back and sides are cut to fit neatly into the small of the back and sit smoothly over the body. The front has gathered drawstring to create the opening. Gathering starts from the pocket trim (not the side seam) and runs across the front body. The hem length is marked on the pattern and can be easily adjusted after construction. If you add length to the pant leg add double for the fabric requirement.

Fabric Suggestions: The Cove Pants are best suited for lightweight fabrics, that gather and compress well. The waistband will end up with a number of layers from the drawstring casing, drawstring and gathers. The design is very strong and works best in papery cottons, poplins, shirting, drapey lightweight linens, silks twills, rayon and Tencel.

Fabric requirements: 112cm fabric width: 300cm/118", 140cm fabric width: 250cm/99".

Trims required: Matching thread, lightweight interfacing 15 cm x 90 cm/6" x 36"

Skill Level: Suitable for intermediate skill level.

Seam allowances are included in the pattern. 

The paper pattern comes packaged in an envelope and includes highly detailed fully illustrated instructions.
