This Merchant and Mills Cotton/Linen is beautiful! The colours are vibrant, deep and rich. The drape and weight are just enough for almost any garment project. This is a special piece of fabric that I will savour sewing.

As soon as I received my pattern I searched my stash to find something special. I was a bit hesitant as the sketch on the back of the pattern cover looked more like a short nightie but I looked at actual photos of this pattern made up on instagram and I loved it. I had planned to use linen but I didn’t have a suitable colour for what I was after. I ended up choosing 2 pieces of a gorgeous double sided gauze like Japanese cotton. It was a perfect, not too light, weight. I was very happy with the result and will make this pattern again using a brighter fabric. I used a straight size 10 with no alterations. I chose not to do the top stitching on or around the bib.
