By Grainline Studio, The Tamarack Jacket is a paper sewing pattern.

Garment Details: Designed with the transitional seasons in mind, the Tamarack Jacket is a warm and stylish quilted coat perfect for spring and fall layering. Follow one of the two quilting designs included, or design your own to make your Tamarack totally original to you! You’ll stay toasty thanks to the inner layer of cotton or wool batting, while the roomy welt pockets will keep your belongings safe and your hands warm.

Sizing: This is a multi-size pattern, including sizes US 0-18 or 14-30. Finished garment measurements and fabric requirements guide can be found here.

Kari is wearing a size 6 Tamarack & Tiffany is wearing a size 20 Tamarack

Fabric Suggestions: Main & Lining Fabrics: Light to mid-weight cottons, linenes, chambrays, and blends work well for this jacket. Since the fabric will be doubled and quilted to a batting avoid anything too heavy as the jacket may become excessively stiff.

Batting: High quality batting in cotton, wool, bamboo, or a blend. Choose the thickness based on how warm you want your coat to be.

Trims required: Matching thread, 5 yds of 1/2" double fold bias binding (or 1/2 yd extra fabric to make your own). Fusible interfacing. View A: 4 coat hooks & eyes. View B: 4 heavy duty snaps and a Walking Foot

Skill Level: Advanced beginner to Intermediate. Techniques involved include straight seams, basic quilting, inserting a welt pocket, and applying bias binding.

Seam allowances are included in the pattern.

You will receive an instruction booklet and tissue pattern tucked inside a paper envelope. The pattern is printed in the USA on recycled paper with soy-based inks.

    Tamarack Jacket

This pattern arrived quickly and beautifully packaged. I used leftover blocks and wadding from another project for my jacket. The instructions were good and the the finished garment even better! I wear it all the time and have plans to make another soon.
