Garment Details: TN31 is a relaxed and versatile interpretation of the classic fishtail parka. Lined or unlined it can work for all seasons. It has side pockets, front welt pockets, a back vent and optional drawstring waist.
Sizing: This is a multi-size paper pattern including sizes UK 6-18. Sizing, finished garment measurements and fabric requirements can be found on the back of the pattern envelope located in images.
Fabric Suggestions: Dry Oilskin, Oilskin (lined version only), Tweed, Woollens, Cotton Drill, Cotton Canvas, Waterproofed Cottons and Linens. Using something like oilskin will ensure it keeps it structural shape, but we think it would look equally good in something more slinky like a Tencel Twill.
For the ribbing neckline, M&M have used rib that stretches by half again, i.e. 10cm piece stretches to 15cm. M&M have used a plain finished rib however, you can also use a piece of French striped ribbing for the neckline.
For the lining options use a barrier lining if you are making the oilskin version, brushed cotton, cotton poplin, or a medium weight slip lining in viscose or acetate.
Fabrics used for the M&M samples are the Olive Dry Oilskin with French Stripe Rib (this colour is now discontinued) Dalbeg Harris Tweed with Sweeps Scrim Rib, Conker Oilskin with Oxblood Rib & the Midnight Trench Dry Oilskin with Scuttle Black Rib
Trims required: Matching thread, buttons - 6 x approximately 17-22mm & 3.2m of drawstring cord.
Skill Level: Suitable for an experienced skill level.
All seam allowances are 1.5cm unless stated otherwise and are included in the pattern.
Please note M&M have now changed pattern printers. Their patterns are now printed within Europe, the pattern paper is 70gsm white (FSC® certified) and is made only 180km away from the printers. The instructions now come in booklet format rather than A3 sheets. The paper is PEFC/01-31-126 certified.
