ESME MAXI CARDIGAN • Pattern
By NAMED, Esme Maxi Cardigan is a paper sewing pattern.
Garment Details: Esme is an oversized, super cozy and relaxed maxi cardigan. Esme features a chunky button closure, large in-seam front pockets, dropped shoulders and rolled-up cuffs that emphasize the casual and carefree look.
Sizing: This is a multi-size pattern, including sizes XS-XXL. This pattern comes with plenty of ease. Check the finished measurements for your size and, if necessary, select a size smaller than usually if you want the garment to be more fitted. Sizing, finished garment measurements and fabric requirements can be found here.
Fabric Suggestions: Choose a medium weight or heavy fabric with 20-40% stretch. For example terry, sweatshirt jersey or a heavier teddy or cable knit. Be careful with fabrics that are very drapey and soft, as they might make the pockets look untidy. In such case, consider omitting the front pockets.
For the pocket bags, pick a medium weight, sturdy knit fabric that matches your main fabric. Ponte is a great choice, but make sure your pocket bag fabric isn’t heavier than the main fabric. You can also use your main fabric for the pocket bags.
Trims required: Matching thread, pocket bag fabric, 25 cm (1/4 yd), fusible knit interfacing, 145 cm (15/8 yd), stay tape, 155 cm (13/4 yd) and large buttons x 5 pcs
Skill Level: Intermediate skill level.
Seam allowances are included in the pattern.
Beautifully packaged printed patterns include an instruction booklet and one or more pattern sheets, depending on the size of the product.
