By I AM PATTERNS, Gaston Cardigan is a paper sewing pattern.
Garment Details: I am a jersey jacket with 6 versions, both classic and casual. I can be sewn with a shirt collar or with a simple round neckline. You can choose to make me with large patch pockets, welt pockets or without pockets altogether. I fasten with 5 press-studs. I have a facing on the inside for a clean finish and have long, fitted sleeves that are finished with a single folded hem.
Sizing: This is a multi-sized pattern European sizes 36 to 46. Sizing, finished garment measurements and fabric requirements can be found here.
Fabric Suggestions: Designed for medium weight knit fabrics: sweatshirt, quilted jersey, faux-fur jersey.
Trims required: Matching thread, 5 x 5/8″ (15 mm) snap fasteners, interfacing for the welt pocket: 8″x16″ (20 cm x 40 cm)
Optional: 5 yards (4.5 m) of 3/8″ (1 cm) bias binding to finish the welt pockets, the assembled facing and the bottom of the garment.
Skill Level: Suitable for a beginner skill level.
Seam allowances are included in the pattern.
The paper pattern comes packaged in an envelope and includes highly detailed fully illustrated instructions.
