Garment Details: The Syli dress is a relaxed everyday garment with a loose fit. It features a gathered bodice, a shallow tuck across the chest, and a calf-length hemline that dips slightly longer in the back. The neckline is finished with binding with a back vent secured by ties. The dress has two deep tucks around the hemline of both the skirt and sleeves as well as in-seam side pockets. The ¾-length sleeves have gathered ends finished with binding and ties.
Sizing: This is a multi-size pattern, including sizes XS-XXL. This pattern comes with plenty of ease. Check the finished measurements and if you wish select a smaller size than usual. Sizing, finished garment measurements and fabric requirements can be found here.
Fabric Suggestions: Choose a light to medium, non stretch fabric. Select either a low-drape fabric or a fabric with only a little drape. Cotton, linen, Tencel and rayon shirtings and dress-weight fabrics are recommended.
For the ties, choose a stable woven ribbon, such as a twill or herringbone band made of linen or cotton. If your fabric is light or drapey, interface the neckline and the pocket openings.
Trims required: 4cm (1⅝") binding x 390cm (154"). If using light or drapey fabrics for the dress you will need fusible interfacing x 5cm (2").
Skill Level: Intermediate skill level.
