THE MOLLY DRESS • Pattern
NOW & THEN PATTERNS by TIL THE SUN GOES DOWN, the Molly Dress is a paper sewing pattern.
Garment Details: Inspired by the 1940's, the Molly Dress is a simple but oh so lovely little number with great versatility.
A bias cut skirt creates a draped , fluid skirt with lots of swing. The slightly above natural waistline seam, gives the look of longer legs and a smaller waist. Gentle gathers from a piped shoulder yoke give shaping, all finished off with a bound neckline. There's a short, straight sleeve and a long sleeve with gathers on the sleeve head.
Sizing: This is a multi-size pattern, including sizes 8-18. Sizing guide, finished garment measurements and fabric requirements can be found here.
Fabric Suggestions: To achieve the best results, use a fabric with some "give". eg crepe silk, viscose/Tencel, lightweight wool or polyester.
Trims required: Matching thread, 22cm side zip/press-studs, optional contrast colour fabric for the yoke piping and optional belt.
Skill Level: Intermediate.
The paper pattern comes carefully packaged in an envelope together with a step-by-step assembly instructions.
