A striking Bagru block print in blue and a warm stone shade.

Papercut is a soft, light-weight cotton which would make a beautiful shirt. Perfect for tops, dresses & skirts with fullness, pyjamas and lightweight breezy curtains.

Pattern suggestions: The Bantam or Heron from the M&M Workbook. Also perfect for the Winnie pyjamas, a lightweight Ellsworth shirt or even an Edie with a voluminous sleeve, a gorgeous Marcel Dress or Top or a summer Celestia Dress.

Traditional hand block and dye techniques are used to make this wonderful rural cloth. Please note: Indian hand-printed cloths are sometimes susceptible to irregularities in the print, this is all part of their charm and are not classed as flaws.

Washing & Care: This fabric is hand dyed. For the first couple of washes, place the fabric in the washing machine drum at 30 or 40 degrees with a handful of table salt. This will fix the dye to prevent it from running.

Please allow for a shrinkage of 3-5%.

Manufactured: India.

Bagru, a small village in Rajasthan, 35 kilometres from Jaipur, is known for its hand block printing utilising traditional processes and natural colours. Bagru prints tend to be more simple with limited colours in comparison to Sanganer block prints which are more colourful with finer detail. Block printing is still practiced by the Chippa community, who have lived here for over 400 years.

We try our best to give an accurate representation of our fabrics, however due to varying monitor settings the colours may differ slightly to the original fabric. If you want to be sure about the colour, weight or size of a design please order a sample.

Our fabric is sold per 25cm (¼ metre). If you would like to purchase one metre of fabric please enter 4 units. When purchasing multiple units, the fabric will be cut continuously.
