VENUS DRESS • Pattern

Garment Details: The Venus is an elegant dress with clean lines, featuring a sweetheart neckline. 

Sizing: This is a multi-size pattern, including sizes XS-XL or XL-6XL . Sizing guide, finished garment measurements and fabric requirements can be found here.

Fabric Suggestions: The Venus dress pattern is designed for stretch fabrics, you can make it in most knits, such a cotton, wool or polyester jersey. Heavier knits are recommended (at least 180gsm) in order to hug curves while concealing undergarments lines. For the same reason fluid jerseys such as viscose or silk are not recommended.

The fabric you chose must have 30-50% horizontal stretch. 

Trims required: Matching thread, 1 metre of clear elastic (narrow elastic, about 1/4’’ (6mm) wide) to stabilise neckline and create the neckline ruching. Finding clear elastic is not always easy: alternatively, you can use a narrow ribbon such as satin ribbon to stabilise neckline, and regular narrow elastic to create the ruching. Optional: 10cm of fusible interfacing for stretch fabrics.

Skill Level: The pattern is placed at a Level 2 out of 5, on the French Poetry pattern skill scale. This pattern only has 5 pieces and you will be guided throughout the process with a 20 pages fully illustrated booklet.

The paper pattern comes carefully packaged in an envelope together with a step-by-step assembly instruction in English.

A 5/8” (1.5cm) seam allowance is included.
